Our Story
Fleming Street is a family-owned restaurant that specializes in decadent desserts and fresh savory dishes. We offer desserts from your childhood and creative remixes of classic southern dishes. Dine-in, to-go, and catering services are available. Aside from delicious sweets and dishes, Fleming Street offers a rental event space for life's celebrations and business meetings with full catering services.
Situated between two major North Carolina cities, Charlotte and Greensboro, Fleming Street is easily accessible to locals and tourists. We are located at 400A S. Salisbury Avenue, Spencer NC, across from the historic North Carolina Train Museum in Spencer, NC.
Fleming Street is a dream, first shared during my childhood. After 10 years of being an educator and teaching some of the most amazing young people, it was time to make that childhood dream a reality and take a giant leap of faith.

I grew up in the south, surrounded by a large family that expressed their love through cooking. My childhood memories are saturated with family gatherings around the table at my Grandparent's home, impromptu family dinners, and eating my Grandmother's hot biscuits for an afterschool snack. Food and cooking for others was not just an individual task but was at the center of communal experiences.
My Grandmother and personal love for cooking/food and community is the inspiration behind Fleming Street. Watching her cook at home, for the church, and the local community was my introduction to servant leadership. Through the years, I have studied the food ways and methods of cooking that are deeply rooted in my culture. Fleming Street is my opportunity to witness a life-long dream come true, to create, to continue serving others, to build and support community, and to honor the memory of my Grandmother.
